Fort Worth, Texas—Nick Wanzor, President of the Sixty & Better Board of Directors, announced today that Becky Orander will lead the agency as its Executive Director, starting March 22, 2021.
Nick Wanzor stated: “Ms. Orander has successfully served as an agency leader in Tarrant County, caring for vulnerable populations. Her experience developing and implementing strategic plans and securing the resources as well as her collaborative leadership style make her our choice for Executive Director of Sixty & Better.”
Becky Orander has a Masters Degree in Social Work and nearly 30 years’ experience in nonprofit management and fundraising, most recently with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Orander previously served as Executive Director of the Arlington Life Shelter.
Ms. Orander shared: “I am excited to accept this position to lead Sixty & Better and provide much needed older adult programming and services in Tarrant County. I believe strongly in the agency Mission of empowering older adults to live with purpose, independence and dignity. Older adults have become more isolated especially during the pandemic. Sixty & Better is committed to reducing the social isolation of older adults and promoting Healthy Aging. Overall, caring for others is my passion. Sixty & Better has a long history of improving the lives of older adults.”
Members of the Board Executive Search Committee included Nick Wanzor, President, Karen Ostrander, Past President, and Board Members: Terry Aaron, Terry Siegel, Joseph Taylor, Michele Ware, and Karen Telschow Johnson. Jerome Mosman served as the Interim Executive Director during the hiring process, helping to ensure a smooth and efficient transition.
